Understandably, jet service from Alaska to Kamchatka in Russia is not happening. If you had travel booked, you need to get a refund, now.
Here’s the latest announcement:
InterPacific Aviation and Marketing, Inc. (IPAM) announces with regret that it will cease operations as of March 31, 2022, and is terminating its contractual agreement with Russian air carrier Yakutia Airlines. Clients holding vouchers issued for travel on the Alaska-Russian Far East route who have not yet initiated the refund process through their travel agent or with IPAM directly should submit their refund requests to us immediately. See below.
Since its founding in 2009, IPAM has been dedicated to building ties between the US West Coast, the Russian Far East, and Japan. We are proud of our role connecting families, supporting business and science, and promoting tourism. Since inaugurating the Alaska-Russian Far East Service we have carried approximately 8500 passengers between the cities of Anchorage, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, and Yakutsk, and thousands more on other charter programs. We are grateful to the many people and organizations that supported the service; vendors, outfitters, operators, the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, and most importantly the many passengers who entrusted us with their travel.
Regretfully, the ongoing conflict now unfolding in Ukraine makes it impossible to continue operations and carry out our mission.
InterPacific Aviation and Marketing (IPAM), a US company based in Seattle, Washington, and its parent company InterAviation Japan (IAJ) based in Tokyo, Japan, are independent entities without any affiliation with the Russian government or corporations. For ongoing business matters, we may be contacted at sales@airrussia.us and iajops@interavia.co.jp.
Refunds of Yakutia Airlines vouchers originally issued for travel on the 2022 Alaska-Russian Far East Service will be processed through InterPacific Aviation and Marketing, Inc./Akrasia’s. Passengers may have their fare amount refunded to their credit card or have a check mailed to them. To request a refund, the passenger should contact us by email and advise the passenger name and voucher number (or attach a copy of the voucher). To have a check mailed, please provide passenger mailing address. To have funds credited to your card, please advise credit card details (12-digit number, expiration date, 3-digit code, billing address) via secure method (phone: 206-443-1614, fax: 206-443-0954, password-secured document via email to sales@airrussia.us).
